I’ve been visiting Piermont for the past 20 years, and it instantly became my favorite place. The history, the buildings—everything was amazing to me.
Originally from New Jersey, I would drive the 20/25 minutes to Piermont. The pier was the best spot to hang out with friends and clear my mind.
In 2020, I moved to Sparkill with my husband to live in my dream home—a 114-year-old farmhouse with the most amazing wrap-around porch. The Clarke family (family who built my home) had a strong connection to Piermont as well.
I was ecstatic to now be within walking distance of my favorite place.

Seeing this incredible village change due to the small government’s actions is deeply upsetting. The recent pollution of the beautiful creek due to negligence by both the builder and the local government (Piermont, not S. Orangetown) is heartbreaking.

I’ve heard comments like, “You don’t live in the village, why do you care?” I care because preserving the history of an area rich with history and hardworking men and women is important. Saving this village from the greed of overdevelopment and environmental hazards is crucial.
